Supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance
Here at Cornish Motorhome Hire, we’re passionate about the county we live in and want to help support the local community. One of the ways we’re doing this is by making charitable donations to local organisations.
When you think of Cornwall, you probably picture sandy beaches, delicious pasties, and quaint fishing villages. It’s somewhere people want to visit to have a bit of solitude and often, visitors and locals alike seek out isolated spots to soak in some peace and quiet. But do you ever think about what might happen if you had an accident whilst you’re out in the middle of nowhere?
Every second counts when someone is critically ill or injured and as Cornwall is a rural county, we rely on the air ambulance. It could take hours to reach a hospital by road, whereas the helicopter run by the Cornish Air Ambulance takes just minutes.
To show our support for this incredible and vital charity, we pledge to donate 1% of the total hire price of online bookings to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
About Cornwall Air Ambulance
Founded in 1987, the air ambulance was the first of its kind in the UK. Over the years, they have completed more than 30,000 missions and saved countless lives.
The Cornwall Air Ambulance is a non-profit charity that provides critical care across Cornwall and the Scilly Isles to seriously sick and injured people. Attending more than 1,000 emergencies per year, the team receive no government funding and rely wholly on charitable donations from the general public.
A lifeline to the Cornish community and visitors alike, the air ambulance is the easiest way to transport patients with serious illnesses or traumatic injuries to the hospital. Cornwall’s high number of rural settlements, isolated beaches and challenging road network means that relying on road transport is not practical.
How to Make a Donation
When you hire a motorhome from us, we’ll give 1% of the total hire price to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust as a charitable donation.
If you wanted to make an additional donation, you can do this when you book a motorhome. Simply open up the ‘Optional Extras’ menu and choose the amount you’d like to donate, and this will be added to the total hire price.
If you do choose to make an additional charitable donation, please accept our thanks – we know that the Cornwall Air Ambulance will be incredibly grateful for your support.
